This book draws on interdisciplinary approaches, though grounded in sociological concerns, to appreciate aspects of Muslim society in Manipur, a state in North East India. This book is the first such attempts Manipuri Muslims. This book seeks to attempt to understand in particular, social stratification, social practices and, in addition to certain theoretical problems facing research and interpretation in social sciences, social change among the Manipuri Muslims. This way the book presents a larger perspective.
