The author investigates the major political concepts of Islam in the light of the original Arabic sources, the Quranic Tafasir (exigeses), hadith (Prophetic tradition), treatises of medieval Muslim jurists on Islamic constitutional law, historical works, and the writings of contemporary Muslim scholars and western orientalists. In his opinion, a logically coherent general theory of Islamic political system may be re-constructed on the basis of five major Quranic terms the Ummah, the Shariah, the Khilafah, the Shura, and the Itaah and Khuruj.In the light of his studies, the author arrives at the conclusion that the Muslim Ummah I’m different territorial units is quite capable of organizing an Islamic Political System in consonance with the demands of the modern age.
