Description
In this time volume on Hindu-Muslim relations some of my articles Published in journals and newspapers during the last disastrous decade and some recent ones have been hurriedly put together. especially in view of my foreboding that a communal crisis is again in the making, which may overtake the country. Apparently the ongoing vibrant peace and human rights movement in the country should be reassuring to concerned citizens and the victim groups, that anti-humanistic forces will not be allowed to hold sway. But the experience of Delhi 1984, and Ayodhya I 990199293 and Ayodhya II (2002) shows that the basic approach and methodology of peace and human rights in the country is flawed. In a traditional society like India durable communal peace can be maintained only under the twin process of law and dialogue, adequate institutional mechanism for both of which is lacking in the country. The twin processes of law and compassion have to be linked together.
