The Qur’an is the final scripture of the One God, Allah, to all humanity. It was revealed in the Arabic language as a completion of all previous scriptures from God through the Angel Jibril Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in the seventh century of the Christian Era, over a period of 23 years. It contains guidance for all aspects of human life, and its words are as fresh and relevant today as when they were first sent down
Arabic is a very exact language and the meanings of its words are more concise and subtle than any other languages, this is one of the reasons it is said that the Quran cannot really be translated. Also, the classical Arabic of the Qur’an is very poetic and inspiring: many of its verses rhyme, and there is no way to imitate this lovely sound in English. Therefore, is understood that the best way to study the Qur’an is to lean the classical Arabic language in which it was revealed under the guidance of a teacher and the best way to read it is to recite it out loud according to the rules of tajwid proper recitation in a beautiful voice. However, there are not yet enough teachers of the Quran and Arabic in the English-speaking world to make this possible for everyone, and not everyone has the same ability to learn language. There are already many translations of the Qur’an available in English but the most widely used are written in formal Shakespearean English which not many young people today understand w vocabulary which can even be unclear to many adults
