Description
The present researcher after scanning through the available material realized that there is still a paucity of serious academic study which could critically present an analytical study of India and the non-aligned movement. The present study is the result of this thinking. This work is an analytical study of India and the first to seventh summits of the non-aligned movement.
This study is divided into six chapters. The first chapter deals with the theoretical aspects of non-alignment such as its meaning, distinction from neutrality, power politics, military alliances and the growth of the non-alignment and India’s efforts in the evolution and development of Non-Aligned Movement. The second chapter deals with the third summit of the Non-Aligned Countries held at Lusaka, Zambia from 8-10 September (1970). The third chapter deals with the fourth summit conference held at Algiers in September 1973. The fourth chapter takes an account of the fifth NAM Summit held at Colombo in August 1976. The fifth chapter deals with the sixth NAM Summit Conference held at Havana, Cuba in 1979, The sixth chapter deals with Seventh NAM Summit Conference held at New Delhi from 7 to 11 March 1983.
