This book deals with the role of Muslims in the Indian freedom struggle in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Part-1 and Maharashtra, . The Nizam of Hyderabad ruled over major part of Andhra Pradesh including Marathwada in Maharashtra but the larger part of Maharashtra was under the direct rule of the British. The developments and pattern of the national struggle in the two states were both uneven and dissimilar but at the same time events and personalities in the Kingdom of Nizam had strong bearing on both the modern states, Andhra and Maharashtra. They are, therefore discussed in both the parts. Some Muslim freedom fighters are also shown in the appendices of both the states.
A special feature of this volume is a discussion on the Muslim participation in the non-Congress movements in India and abroad like Ghadar movement in the West, Indian National Army in the East, the Naval Revolt and the patriotic activities of individuals and groups in West Asia and Europe.
